Homemade cookies mixed with candy pieces makes a deliciously winning combination.
Whether it's a holiday, special occasion, or just a long, boring afternoon and a way to pass the time is needed, baking cookies is a great activity anytime. Take pictures for the scrapbook of excited little faces covered in flour, and cherish some irreplaceable moments in the kitchen. Fresh baked sugar cookies can be made from a simple recipe, and when they are done they serve as a sort of blank canvas for baking fun. Kids love to cut the dough in fun shapes, and later cover the cookies in colored frosting or sprinkles. Baking together at special times is very likely to become a tradition that will be passed down from generation to generation. Likewise, the products of these yummy bonding sessions will certainly be the topic of much discussion by holiday guests and family members. Not only is it a sweet treat, but baking together is always a great source of happy memories and simple math lessons for children. There are plenty of pre-packaged cookie dough flavors in the refrigerator aisle of most grocery stores, and while these products save on time and toil, going the extra mile to make cookies from scratch is almost always worth the effort. Not to mention the added pride bakers of any age will feel knowing that they made something delicious all by themselves.
