Flaky pie crust loaded with fresh ripe peaches & spices, topped with sweet brown sugar praline streusel. Classic peach dessert can be made with frozen or canned peaches.

Fresh peaches ripe from the tree are best in this Peach Streusel Pie. However, when fresh peaches are not available, frozen and canned peaches work just fine. Do not thaw frozen peaches for this pie, use in their frozen state for best results. If using canned peaches in syrup, be sure to drain them first.

Peach Streusel Crumb Pie Recipe

  • Recipe for 9" Double Crust Pie Crust (Click on The Best Pie Crust Recipe. This recipe makes enough for 4 crusts. Divide the recipe in half or freeze the extra crusts.)
  • 4 cups fresh peaches, peeled, pitted and sliced, see article above
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 Tablespoons (1/4 stick) melted butter

Streusel Crumb Topping Recipe

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • Pinch salt
  • 2 Tbsp butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup chopped toasted pecans
  • 1/3 cup coconut, sweetened and flaked, optional

How to Make a Peach Streusel Pie

  1. Place peeled, pitted and sliced peaches in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Add white sugar, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and melted butter, and mix with a spoon or spatula.
  3. Pour into favorite unbaked pie crust. Set aside.
  4. In the same bowl, mix streusel topping ingredients; flour, sugar, salt, and butter with hands or pastry blender until crumbly and looks like medium sized crumbs.
  5. Add walnuts and optional coconut and mix in.
  6. Sprinkle topping evenly over pie.
  7. Bake at 375 degrees for approximately 40 minutes or until bubbly and topping is lightly toasted.
  8. Cool before serving with fresh whipped cream (see recipe below).
  9. Makes 1 - 9 inch pie. Serves 8.
  10. Wrap pie and refrigerate any leftovers.

Sweetened Whipped Cream Recipe

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

How To Make Whipped Cream

  1. Whip heavy whipping cream until semi stiff.
  2. Add powdered sugar and vanilla and whip until stiff. Do not over whip cream.
  3. Refrigerate until ready to serve with Peach Streusel Pie.

Variations:

  • Add raisins to the peach filling.
  • Substitute apples for peaches.
  • Add 1 cup chopped fresh Bing cherries to the peaches.
